90% of the time when I cook, I am following a recipe, albeit loosely. I always make modifications based on the ingredients I have on hand and my palate preferences! You will always see me adding extra onion and garlic! My sources for recipes are primarily online and magazines (both print and online) though I do have a couple of recipe books I have referenced from time to time.

I like a lot of variety in my meals. Week to week, month to month, heck, even year to year! Rarely do you find a lot of repeat dishes. So when you do, you know those are good ones! Want to learn more about how I meal plan?

I’m a pretty harsh critic – not only for myself and my cooking  capabilities but also of the recipes. I like a lot of flavor, but balanced. I’ve had my fair share of crap meals and a decent number of highly successful ones.  Here’s my grading scale:

A: This is a definite make again!

B: This is pretty good! I’m pleased. It might need a tiny bit of tweaking though.

C: I’m generally not really impressed. It’s decent enough, definitely edible. But I don’t think I’d go through the effort to make it again.

D: Wow, this really is not good at all.

F: Not at all edible. Epic failure.

Pluses and minuses are discretionary.

Please note: most of these are what you would consider “dinner” recipes. Obviously, my motto for lunch is leftovers so these recipes tend to act for both. And breakfast doesn’t usually involve a recipe but you will find a few scattered in there. And you won’t find any recipes for my basics like spaghetti, chili, or tuna casserole. They change all the time!
