Out with the Old…

Ok, well, it was a couple weeks ago but I haven’t gotten around to sharing yet. My darling husband has been driving around in an old (1996) VW Golf, appropriately nicknamed The Golf Cart,  for the past few years ever since we totaled our Acura in Montana.

The VW turned into our dog-mobile since the back seats folded down completely flat. Pip loved it. Jodus? Not so much. Not only because it was a manual and older, but it was just getting to the point where it had some major issues that were going to be pretty costly. We’ve already done a lot of work on it as is (hello, new clutch) and we’re tired of it.

Well, thanks to my new(ish) job, and him getting a raise, we finally got around to justifying a sexy new dog-mobile.

He’s really super happy. It’s a 2005 Toyota 4Runner Sport and suits our needs perfectly. It also gets Pippin’s stamp of approval. We’re breaking it in with a road trip, back to Montana, and hopefully this time we won’t decapitate any deer or get lost in the wilderness but at least our new rig (with a V8!) would be able to handle the creek beds and hairpin turns! Ha!

We did manage to sell the VW on Craigslist in less than 24 hours and got our asking price so that was a total win.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend, everyone! Be safe!
