The Long Weekend

Well, we survived!

On Thursday, we both took the day off and finished packing up our (old) house.

Friday, we moved (with the help of my dad and one of Jodus’ coworkers), a whopping 3 miles, and were drinking beer by 1pm. We busted our asses to start unpacking the essentials: kitchen, bedroom, living room.

We finished unpacking (guest bedroom, garage, office) on Saturday and took it easy in the afternoon just tinkering around and getting organized.

Sunday, we ran 11.69 miles (PDR! Half marathon in less than 2 weeks!) and found a really nice stretch of road that is great for running (read: not very hilly or busy) and has a public parking lot at one end. Hello, new running route? We also got new internet setup since our old guys didn’t have coverage in the new digs.

We celebrated the 4th of July by not doing much of anything. I read on our new deck all morning. We washed the cars. We polished off 2 bags of chips and dip. And we took Pippin to the beach.

I’m still pretty pooped from our busy weekend but we are officially all settled into the new house and are loving it. Sure, it doesn’t have skylights or vaulted ceilings like the last place but everything else makes up for that. Be on the lookout for a video tour soon! And let’s pray that we can stay here for a couple of years at least. I’m tired of moving every year!

  1. That last photo is priceless.

Sososo happy you’re in the new place and all this mess is (hopefully) behind you! I can’t believe how much you’re running now. Well, no, I CAN believe it. But I’m pretty proud of you 🙂

  2. Congrats on your move! That’s a lot of work. We’ve been settled for 6 years now and are getting antsy! lol I am feeling like we have accumulated tooooooo much stuff!

  3. Woot woot! Moved in and ready to stay! I dread if we ever move…we have been in this house 10 years now and I do not want to even think about what could be ‘stored’ in the basement!! Glad the move went smoothly!
