A Special Visit

Guess who is in town this weekend!

My little sister brother, Ryan! (I don’t think we look related at all.)

He’s in town (from Great Falls, Montana) with his school band – they hit up the Experience Music Project and the Seattle Symphony. That’s pretty cool if you ask me!

Before we met up with him in Seattle, Huz and I grabbed dinner from Ivar’s just off of the ferry.

I ordered the blackened cod tacos with corn tortillas.

They were incredibly bland even though they looked delicious.

Husband went with the crab sandwich – which was just crab cakes on a bun with some onion straws.

He was a little disappointed and didn’t think it had any sort of WOW Factor at all. Oh well. At least we had a $5 off coupon to help ease the pain.

It has been raining nonstop here in Washington for pretty much a couple of weeks solid. Fortunately, we got to see the blue sky for a few minutes today before the clouds rolled back in.

I love cherry blossom season!

We moseyed around Pike Place Market a bit, swung by our jeweler to get my rings cleaned and inspected, then headed up to meet Ryan and his friend, Cassie up at Westlake.

We spent the few hours we had together doing a little bit of shopping – we don’t make it in to the city that much anymore! We also went to an arcade for a bit before rushing to dinner.

We went to Taphouse – one of Jodus’ favorites. Who wouldn’t love 160 beers to choose from?

I went with Young’s Double Chocolate Stout.

(Sorry, the lighting sucked.)

It was soooo good.

For dinner, I got the grilled halibut with parmesan mashed potatoes and veggies.

Everything was a bit butter laden but was quite good.

Huz got Halibut n’ chips and it came with fried asparagus as well!

I think he enjoyed it.

It was a short trip but it was really good to see my little brother! We’ll be getting more time with him in June – I’m looking forward to it!

  1. Next time we’ll send him with a haircut…did you notice your baby bro’s eye direction (see picture with Cassie). He denies “checking the girls out”. Not sure if I believe that.
