Devil Eyes

We are on our way to a friend’s Halloween party in a ridiculous get-up! I promise to show off pictures tomorrow!

In the meantime, here’s a tasty treat that I’m bringing along!

Ew! What the?

Turns out, the wonderful host is having a contest on “Scariest Food” and “Best Witches Brew” so I had to try and come up with something to contribute! After a quick Google search, I came up with these guys!

They are simply devilled eggs with a little pizzazz! I added green food coloring to the yolk mix…

And topped them with an olive slice and a piece of red bell pepper to make up the pupil.

We also added some nasty veins with a toothpick and red food coloring.

Unfortunately, the red color bled a bit so they aren’t quite as cool a couple hours later.

I served up the eyes with a side of brains!

The brains are just noodles boiled in red-dyed water!

It’s maybe not the best or the scariest food ever but I had fun and maybe it’ll get a good laugh at the party tonight.

Wish us luck!

And be safe this Halloween!
